Dragon Age Origins has gone gold
According to BioWare’s webpage Dragon Age has gone gold. Should be in stores next week. (In case you’re just jumping in and wondering why I care, I was the lead designer on Dragon Age for the majority of its development.)
I’m thrilled for the team, years of their hard work have made this a fantastic game. I’m hoping they can relax a bit and just enjoy the thrill that comes from seeing the game they made show up on store shelves. More than likely they are already working busily away on other exciting things.

Will you play it, Brent, or would it be dull since you basically made it?
I’m not sure. I actually played Dragon Age through several times before I left BioWare and while I very much enjoyed it I’ve tried pretty much every class/race combination already.
I’ll probably wait a bit for more download content and/or expansions to become available and then take a look at it again.
I should also add, that even as a lead on Dragon Age I was constantly surprised by what I found in the game! The writers and scripters and artists are always inserting great content. So even though I knew everything about the plots, there were always little surprises along the way.
